This is proper instructive telly. Social, religious, political, military, industrial history wrapped around excellent archive footage, decent writing and editing without Attention Deficit Disorder (I sound like I’m in my fifties don’t I?). And lots and lots of big ships and cranes. Splendid.
First there was Speechification, which is a lot of excellent speech radio from around the world wrapped up in a podcast. Now there’s Watchification. We’re selecting the really good stuff from the BBC iPlayer, from the shows that appear on YouTube and - you never know - maybe some other TV too. We’ve rounded up over a dozen interesting people to make the selections and we’re always very keen to hear your suggestions for good stuff that we might have missed. As they say, watch this space.
